![]() ![]() The latest version of MTC is 4.04 and you will be able to upgrade to it once you have the pc driver. This is a trial version that will cut lines through the finished cut item as a watermark (which goes away when you register it), but it works normally otherwise so you can make sure it works before you buy it. The video below will walk you through the installation of your Cricut. If you are installing the driver manually, click here to visit the USB Driver download page. It can be installed manually or by using the automatic USB driver installation feature built in to Sure Cuts A Lot. However, with MTC, all you have to do is find a copy of the last version that worked with the cricut and you will get the driver you need. The driver can be installed a couple of different ways. So bottom line is, you are pretty much out of luck with SCAL unless you are willing to pay tons of money for a program that you will never be able to upgrade. So everyone who had before still can use their circuits but you cannot purchase it any longer. As the page turns to the 2024 offseason, Caserio will have his work cut out for him again. However, if you had it before the settlement, you still have it and upgrading the software does not erase it. It is now no longer available from the company. The last couple of versions of MTC that worked with the cricut (v 3.2.0 & 3.2.1 I believe) came with the plug-in for the cricut. So when you download the program, you get the core software, then separately download the plug-in for whatever machine you have. Shortly before they stopped supporting the cricut, they broke out the drivers for the different cutters and put them in a separate folder. Those copies are going for hundreds of dollars on ebay, and SCAL has said they will stop supporting it the end of this year. The only way to get SCAL now is to find someone that has a copy that has never been registered and buy it directly from them. When SCAL settled with PC, they stopped selling the version that worked with the cricut (v 2.044) and created version 3 that will not work with the cricut. SCAL incorporates the cutter drivers within the program and MTC uses a plug-in approach. The two programs work a little differently.
